The helmet crab (Cancer cheiragonus) is an abundant crustacean that can be easily found in shallow kelp beds and rocky reefs in the Pacific North West. Helmet crabs are hard to approach on scuba but the prepared photographer can sometimes fire a volley of shots befor this crab makes it to safety.
