The Snake Prickleback (Lumpenus
sagitta) is a
shy, nocturnal inhabitant of sandy slopes in the Pacific Northwest of North
America. In early summer around Vancouver Island, schools of juvenile snake
pricklebacks can be found swimming over low lying kelp beds in shallow bays.
