The whitespotted octopus (Octopus macropus) is a 'species-complex'. The holotype of this species is common in the Mediterranean Sea but the animal featured here was photographed in the Caribbean. Eventually this species (or subspecies) may be described seperately. These whitespotted octopus pictures are available for commercial licensing.
