SCIENTIFIC NAME: Halichoeres chierchiae

 

DESCRIPTION: TERMINAL PHASE: Body mostly green with pink mottling. Yellow under chin and pectoral fins. Red spot at midbody with offset green and black patch.  INITIAL PHASE: Mottled pink, green, white and yellow forming subtle vertical lines along entire length of body. Small black spot under dorsal fin near tail. JUVENILE: Brown with broken white lines and black spots on dorsal and anal fins.

 

RANGE: Baja to Columbia including offshore islands.
